  1. The Model Z -- RAID Controller

  3. The Model Z is a SCSI-to-SCSI intelligent disk array controller. It
  4. performs RAID-O (striping), RAID-3 (parallel transfer) or RAID-5
  5. (independent transfer) operation.
  6.  
  7. The Model Z features a RISC processor. It is designed for high ease-of-use,
  8. and supports up to five SCSI drives. A later version of the controller
  9. will support up to 35 drives, on seven tiers.

  11. A menu-driven utility eases setup configuration, and an LCD provides
  12. detailed diagnostic information.
  13.  
  14. The Model Z is fast and wide on the host side, and fast on the drive side
  15. (i.e., supports fast SCSI drives).

  17. This controller is ideal for Novell network storage, among other multi-user
  18. platforms.

  20. The controller is sold to OEMs, system integrators and VARs.

  22. The packaging is unique: 5.25" full high. The controller is in a chassis
  23. the size of a disk drive, so it can easily be slid into a 5.25" slot in a
  24. disk tower.

  26. With a price of $3,295, the Model Z is now available.
